General Auto Information
We provide vehicle services to missionaries. This committment was birthed out of our own experience as missionaries in Bolivia. In June 1996, we felt the Lord’s timing to help missionaries “full-time” with their vehicle needs. We do sell cars to the general public, but our main priority and purpose is to the missionary community.
We are a licensed used car dealer which enables us to purchase used cars at auctions, from other dealers, or other locations. This opens a wide variety of opportunities to find excellent and economical vehicles. The cost to you, the missionary, is our cost invested in the vehicle they purchase. It is our goal is to purchase as excellent a vehicle as we can find for the lowest possible price, according to each missionary’s need.
You must specify what type of vehicle is needed (by supplying the information listed at the bottom of this page) and the maximum price you would be able to afford. That doesn’t mean the vehicle MUST cost that much, but it’s important we know your limits. Knowing that most missionaries put an average of 25,000 miles or more on the vehicle during their furlough time, we seek to find the most dependable vehicle available. We work hard to make sure everything is in as good as condition as possible before it leaves our auto shop. All vehicles go through an extensive service/safety inspection.

Makes/Prices
As stated above, we work toward finding what you want for the price you can afford. To give you an idea of what you can expect, the main factor in pricing vehicles is year of make and mileage—the older year and higher mileage, the lower the price. Of course the reverse is also true—newer year, lower mileage, the higher the price. If funds are limited (which is the case for most missionaries), we often advise going with a newer year vehicle with higher miles.
If you want a reliable vehicle, you will need to count on paying at least $4,000 for a car and $6,000 for minivans. Its difficult to locate a dependable vehicle not needing more investment and work for under this range. But don’t hesitate to communicate with us if this is out of your range. We may have some alternate possibilities.

Summer Requests
If we receive your request during the months of May through September, you will pay more than other months of the year—especially for minivans. The prices on vehicles are at their peak during summer months—this is a typical auto sales industry trend. If you can place an order early—between October and April—we can generally save you more money.

Payment
Once you decide to have us purchase a vehicle, a deposit should be sent to Mission Auto Connection (personal or mission check, money order, or cashier’s check are acceptable) for a minimum of half the maximum requested purchase price. These funds are held in an account for you until the actual purchase is made and you are notified, at which time the remaining balance is due. If the purchase order is cancelled before a vehicle is purchased, a full refund of the funds deposited would be returned to you. This is our general policy, but we do understand the challenges most missionaries face in the financial area, so please feel free to discuss any special situation you may have.

Rentals/Leases
Unfortunately, we do not have rentals or lease vehicles available.

Pickup/Delivery
If you desire us to help with your vehicle, we can purchase and hold it until you’re able to pick it up or make arrangements for someone else to pick it up. There is no storage fee for the time it is here waiting. In some cases we can help with delivery. Just let us know as early as possible if you would like to work out a delivery plan. Its not a guaranteed service, but we do try to help in this area when possible.

Title & License
The standard process for licensing a vehicle is you must have a valid U.S. Driver’s License and residency in the state you plan to title and register the vehicle. We can provide 30-day temporary tags from our location until registration and permanent licensing can be done in your state of residence.

Insurance
Insurance coverage also must come from an agent in the same state that the vehicle is registered. If you need help obtaining insurance coverage, we can recommend the following agency that works with missionaries and understands the unique circumstances they face. We recommed the following company:
The Guidant (formerly known as: Preferred Risk Insurance)
