URGENT PRAYER REQUESTS
GUINEA: The government of Guinea announced that President Conte has died. Elements of the Guinean military declared that a coup is under way. There have been no reports of fighting or casualties in Conakry, but the situation remains unpredictable.
Pray that God will protect His servants in Guinea and use these events to prepare hearts to receive the good news. Pray that He will shed His light through Guinean believers to those who do not yet know Jesus.
Pray also for the Ibsen family, who are traveling off the coast of the capital for a few days and have not yet returned.
COLOMBIA: The rains have caused flooding in some areas in Colombia, and thousands have lost their homes and belongings. Pray that they will receive help during this Christmas season and be open to God's message of hope and salvation.
TAIWAN: Mark Kramer, son of missionaries Rachel and Don Kramer, has been admitted into the hospital for a probable shunt malfunction and may need surgery. Pray for complete healing for Mark and for wisdom for Rachel and Don concerning medical decisions they may need to make. Pray also for comfort for Mark's brothers, Luke and Caleb.

AFRICA
BURKINA FASO: Praise God for a productive roofing trip for Kevin Oberg! Thanks to all who prayed.
Pray for Pastor Samuel in Ndorola as he holds evangelistic meetings there two nights this week. Pray that all details to go smoothly and that Alliance churches and pastors will catch the vision that they can conduct evangelism "without the missionary!" Pray that many people will come to Christ during these evenings of evangelism.
Pray for Bonnie and Kevin Oberg as they spend Christmas day with the believers in Sirasso. Pray that the Obergs will be a blessing and encouragement to this group that is still feeling the loss of Pastor Marcel. Pray that they will have a joyful Christmas celebration together.
Pray for the many people who will be baptized this Christmas season in 17 Alliance churches throughout the city of Bobo-Dioulasso. Pray that the believers will give clear testimony of what knowing Christ has meant in their lives.
Pray for the large Sunday school event that will take place on Sunday, December 28, at an outdoor arena. Pray for those involved in the program. Pray that the gospel will be clearly presented and that Alliance churches will be able to provide good follow-up to those who make decisions for Christ.
Pray for those preparing for the youth event that will take place on December 29. This is normally the largest gathering of the Alliance youth during the year. Pray for the speakers that will challenge young people to follow God's plan for their lives.
GUINEA: Chad and Nicki Clason request prayer for protection for their children, as two scorpions were found inside their house recently.
SENEGAL: Pray for Alliance workers who will spend four days living with a village chief and his family in hopes of beginning a chronological Bible story ministry in the village. Pray for God's anointing on this venture as well as the ability to adjust to very different living conditions.
Pray for Mike and Valarie Stephens as they prepare to depart for France on December 29 for a year of language study before joining the team in Senegal. Thanks to all who prayed for healing for Mike's back injury. Pray for his continued recovery. Also, pray for healing for Mike and Valerie's son Zeke, who has strep throat. Pray for protection from this illness for the rest of the family.
Pray for continued interest in the good news among an unreached group whom Alliance workers recently visited.
ASIA/PACIFIC
CAMBODIA: Pray for Julie Toivola as she teaches children during the Christmas service at one of the churches in Phnom Penh on December 28. Pray that God will prepare the hearts of these children to receive Jesus as their Savior. Pray that God will speak through Julie so that the gospel message is communicated clearly.
Pray for Julie Toivola as she assumes the role of coordinator for the Khmer Evangelical Church's (C&MA national church) children's ministry committee in April.
JAPAN: Continue to pray for Ken and Kathy Young as they promote Hope House ministries among community leaders in the region. Specifically, pray for Ms. Ueki, a leader of the social services department, as she talks to regional social welfare leaders about Hope House. Pray that these leaders will permit the Youngs to present Hope House at regional government meetings.
EUROPE/MIDDLE EAST
BALKANS: On Christmas Eve three C&MA partner churches will sponsor a Christmas service at the city theater that will feature a drama, preaching, and a Christmas choir. Pray that the outreach will help lead many people to Jesus.
Pray that an Alliance worker's vision to start an occupational therapy training program in cooperation with a local university will become reality. Pray that God will meet the considerable financial needs associated with the program.
RUSSIA: JB and Iris Hecock request prayer for an English camp they will be hosting January 8-10. Pray that God will move in the hearts of those who attend and for opportunities to talk about Christ.
Pray for JB and Iris Hecock as they prepare for home assignment in April and transition back to living in the United States.
Pray for members of the social outreach team from Open Door church as they continue to minister to children from Moscow orphanages. Pray that the church will connect well with the charity that organizes events for orphans so that more church-related programs can be offered to them.
Pray for Tim and Shelly Crouch and the committee that is working to establish a Pregnancy Resource Center. Pray for committee members Alexceu, Lyuba, Victor, Shelly, and Christina as they seek wisdom and make decisions.
Pray for Jason and Joy Jordan's quick, comprehensive acquisition of the Russian language and culture.
LATIN AMERICA
ANGENTINA: Pray for Eduardo, an Argentine marketing consultant who works with the Buenos Aires Professional Project team. Pray that the Lord will provide new accounts with adequate income to allow Eduardo time to pursue ministry.
Pray for renewed strength and stamina for Jon and Judy Grames as they return to ministry in Argentina on January 2 following home assignment.
COLOMBIA: Pray for the Christmas outreach programs at the Cali West church, which are held in homes and in the common areas of apartment buildings with everyone invited. Pray for open doors to share the true meaning of Christmas.
Continue to pray for Doug and Naomi Ord on home assignment. Pray that God will bless them with sufficient rest before they begin preparing their messages for tour ministries. Also, pray for Bev Boon as she prepares for her missions tour in Florida.
Pray for the Cali West church pastor and family as they travel to Bogotá for the week of Christmas.
UNITED STATES
Pray for Alliance missionaries on home assignment to have a good, restful holiday with their families before missionary tours begin again in early January.
Pray for Alliance pastors as they enter a new year in ministry. Pray that they will be encouraged, uplifted, and challenged to be even bolder and more courageous in their preaching, teaching, and reaching out to the lost.
Pray for the special Christmas services this week as the good news is shared. Pray for divine appointments for those whom the Lord has prepared to receive His Son into their hearts this Christmas season.
MIDWEST DISTRICT: Continue to pray that all the details will fall into place for the purchase of Word of Grace (WOG) Family Christian Fellowship's new building. The key detail remaining for the completion of this transaction is the sale of Word of Grace's current building at the right price. Pray that this will take place within 45 days of the formal acceptance of WOG's offer, which is the stipulation in its purchase of the new building.
NEW ENGLAND DISTRICT: Pray for complete healing for Brian Fullerton, pastor of the Alliance church in Plymouth, New Hampshire, who has been battling cancer. The Lord has enabled him to continue to preach and fulfill some of his pastoral duties, but he battles daily with weakness and pain. Pray for his wife, Barbara, and their four sons as well.
QUITO '09: Pray for Quito '09, December 28-January 5. Pray for the more than 30 U.S. students joining 100 Latinos, that God's heart for the world would clearly be evident in their midst.
SOUTHEASTERN DISTRICT: Longtime pastor, missionary, and leader in the Southeastern District, Dr. John Croston, passed into the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ last Friday morning. Pray for his wife, Elaine, the Croston family, and Piedmont Park Alliance Church during this difficult time.
CHURCH PLANTING: Pray for special Christmas outreaches of the 134 Alliance church plants in progress.
CREATIVE-ACCESS COUNTRIES
Remember CAC workers around the world. Pray for protection as well as for opportunities to share the good news. Pray that contacts will be drawn to Jesus.
Praise God for a successful mobile clinic that Alliance workers held in a remote village. Every patient received prayer as well as the opportunity to hear the gospel. Pray for lasting fruit.
Pray for a child who urgently needs a kidney transplant. Pray that a family member will be willing to donate a kidney. Also, pray for Alliance workers as they reach out to this family.
