Ministerial Study Program
---------
The Ministerial Study Program has been developed primarily for people who are aware of the call of God to full-time ministry, but who are unable to obtain their training through traditional educational institutions.
----
The Ministerial Study Program is designed to develop character and competency in skills for ministry. Though the student will gain knowledge, the emphasis of this course is on growing in Christ-like character and developing practical ministry skills.
----
Candidates for the program must be approved by the local congregation and recommended by their respective district superintendent. The student will study under the supervision of a coach appointed by the district.
----
The Ministerial Study Program of the Church Leadership Academy fulfills the academic requirements of The Christian and Missionary Alliance for licensing and ordination or consecration.
----
The typical candidate for the Ministerial Study Program has the following profile:
  • Has experienced a call to full-time ministry and is able to articulate that call.
  • Is willing to make a career change to follow God’s leading.
  • Is an experienced leader in a local Alliance church.
  • Gives evidence of having godly character and potential for the vocational ministry.
  • Is an active member of an Alliance church.
Ministerial Emphasis
People who study in the Ministerial Study Program can prepare themselves in one of two emphases:
----
The Church Ministry focus is designed to give the student the basic “tools” for an effective vocational ministry in a church setting.
----
The Church Planting focus is to provide people who qualify for the program with the skills needed to plant a new church. To qualify for this program, the student will need to be assessed through the District in cooperation with the National Church Planting Office, and needs to attend a Church Planters’ Boot Camp, a week-long intensive workshop on church planting strategy.
----
Although the course material is much the same, by the student declaring what he/she is preparing for, the structure of the program is adapted to his/her particular needs. (See Course Sequences.)
There are two methods of study available in the Ministerial Training program: Self Study and Guided Study
